Treatment Options
Inflammation Control
RICE ( rest, ice, compression and elevation ), electrotherapy ( ultrasound and interferential ), acupuncture and Kinesio Taping can all be utilized in the early stages of the inflammatory process – the aim being to reduce internal bleeding into the damaged tissue as much as possible.
Mobilisation
Moving and gliding joints to stretch shortened/stiffened joint and ligament structures to restore normal movement to the affected joints. This allows the joint to retain the movement and flexibility necessary for your return to sport.
Spinal Manipulation

Kinesio Taping
This is the brightly coloured tape you may have seen on athletes on TV. A flexible tape that uses its recoil effect to inhibit or stimulate muscle action. It will improve movement function, reduce pain and bruising. Applied INCORRECTLY, kinesio tape could cause further damage. AHS has several Physiotherapists trained in the correct application of KT.
