The work station is assessed with the worker with consideration of biomechanical, egnomics, work organisation, individual factors and psychosocial factors. Any alterations to static and dynamic working postures are discussed to obtain optimal body mechanics and any changes to the work station that can be made at the time will be made. A report is written with recommendations to enhance employees movement patterns with work tasks. A follow up on implementation of the recommendations is available to trial equipment once these have been approved.
This is a “walk through” of the whole work place by a staff member with postgraduate qualifications in
Occupational Health. The purpose is to identify any obvious biomechanical and/or ergonomic problems that can be easily addressed. Each individual work station is given a visual inspection with recommendations for a more in depth assessment if indicated.
This class generally takes an hour and is given by one of our qualified staff who will instruct participants in
the principles of manual handing so they can apply these to the work, home
or leisure situation to prevent injury. The participant will leave with the
knowledge of how to problem solve any manual handling situation, handouts to
remind them of what they have learned and a certificate of attendance. These

AHS is happy to sign on as your sole provider for treatment of your workers. We will guarantee that your employee will be assessed at our clinic by one of our qualified musculoskeletal physiotherapists within 24 hours of your call. With the employees permission we will provide email reports of progress to your health and safety personnel. Onsite work overviews/assessments if required would then be recommeneded by the Musculoskeltal physiotherapist.
Asafe and timely return to work can be managed by our Occupational Health staff who have postgraduate qualifications in this area of rehabilitation. They will liaise with the patient’s GP, Specialist, Treating
Physiotherapist, Case Manager, Employer and the patient considering all aspects of contributory factors to achieve an effective pathway forward with a written a plan of action. This can then be monitored by the Physio to ensure a forward return to work is achieved. The multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation has been proven to be most successful. Each plancan be individualy and monitored with regular reporting so all stakeholders are consulted and informed of progress.
E arly reporting of Discomfort Pain and Injury in the work place can be encouraged, then assessed. The employee can be provided with self management tools to prevent DPI and recognise when health provider assesement is required. Our team of Occupational Health Physios are qualified to suggest specific ways to identify and manage signs within individuals or departments.
