Injury Rehabilitation

Sport injuries rehabilitation

Physiotherapists help in the rehabilitation of people with a wide range of conditions such as sports injuries, joint problems, fractures and hand injuries to more long-term chronic pain.

Physiotherapists can help a person to recover from surgery. Treatment options include a wide range of manual therapies, exercise programs and electrotherapy techniques, tailored to your specific presentation. Your physiotherapist may work individually with you, or in collaboration with other health care providers, to offer a multifaceted approach to your rehabilitation.

Physiotherapists contribute to people's rehabilitation in a variety of ways by assessing, diagnosing, treating and educating clients.

They may:

  • develop an ongoing exercise programme for you to self-manage.
  • assist patients to identify and overcome barriers which could prevent their recovery
  • discuss with employers a safe plan for return to work and assess the workplace if indicated
